Meet the Team

Meet Dr. Wally Hassoun

Dr. Wally Hassoun is the principal dentist at Dentist Melbourne. He is married with 5 children, (3 boys and 2 girls). The oldest is a 16 year old boy doing year 11 whilst the youngest is a 3 year old daughter in kindergarten.

I moved to Melbourne in 1998 and had a vision of creating a unique practice in which only the best quality and care of service is provided in an open and non-threatening environment. That is when Optimal Caring dentistry was born in 1999.

I am extremely passionate about dentistry and the quality of work I do and have an incredible thirst for knowledge and further advanced education, even after 20 years in the industry. Dentist Melbourne is a technology driven practice but the fundamental basis of dental philosophy is that the mouth and jaws are an extension of the body and as such anything we do in the mouth has an effect on the rest of the body. Each patient is treated with this basic philosophy “I only use techniques and materials that I would use or place if the patient I’m treating was a member of my own family”. I am extremely driven and family and friends describe me as being a real stickler for detail and perfection.

Relaxation for me is either spending time with the family or martial arts training especially in the area of taekwondo.

Meet our Front Office Co-ordinator

Lou Nankervis

I am the longest serving team member of Dentist Melbourne, and have been with the practice for more than 11 years. I am passionate about all aspects of dentistry, and have seen many positive changes throughout my 34 years’ experience in this industry. In my downtime, I enjoy travel, good food and motorcycling.

I feel very fortunate to be able to work in a nurturing environment with a great team, where the overall comfort and wellbeing of our clients is paramount. We are able to offer the latest in dental materials and dental equipment at Dentist Melbourne for our client’s benefit.

Meet Our Oral Health Therapist

Mrs Jessy McClure

As a new addition to the team at Dentist Melbourne, I am pleased to call Melbourne my new home. I have recently moved to the city from Bendigo where I was practicing as an Oral Health Therapist. I have been working in the dental industry since 2004, firstly as a dental assistant and then as an Oral Health Therapist after completing my studies at La Trobe University.

Working alongside Dr. Wally, Lou, Monica and Bianca is very rewarding as we all share a common goal for providing first class, individualized dental treatment for each and every patient. I look forward to coming to work each week and sharing my day with such caring, fun and welcoming people.

Outside of work I love to explore Melbourne, trying different restaurants and wandering down hidden alleyways. At home I spend time entertaining my dog, Rexy, by playing games and taking her for walks. I also like to listen to music and have fun playing the violin and saxophone.

Meet our Clinical Assistant

Mrs Monica Somerville

I’m an only child born in Havana, Cuba and am the Daughter of a musician (dad) and a scientist (mum). I have also been blessed with having a fantastic step dad. I am married to an English gentleman and a mother to a beautiful 16 year old daughter, who wants to be a dentist.

I’m a fully qualified dentist and I worked for 12 years in Havana, Cuba. I also went to the UK and lived there for 5 years but I have been working as a Clinical Assistant since I left Cuba. This has allowed me to offer my love and care to patients.

I have been employed at Dentist Melbourne since January 2012. I love beauty, sophistication and perfection. I can get all of this working with Dr. Wally’s team. Starting every morning with Lou’s warm smile at reception, enjoying working with the happy girls Jess and Bianca and get the privilege of assisting Dr. Wally in his hard working manner. Last but not least the beautiful clientele this practice has, makes working here a very special place.

Meet our Clinical Assistant

Miss Bianca Langerak
